For a long time, you might have gotten by on fast food, skipped meals, late-night snacks, and whatever was quick and easy. And maybe, for years, your body didn’t seem to mind. You still had the energy to push through work, enjoy social life, and bounce back from a weekend of indulgence. But then something shifts.
You start to notice the sluggish mornings. Your energy crashes more often. You don’t feel as sharp or strong as you used to. Maybe you’re not bouncing back like before after a cold or a tough week. The truth is, how we treat our bodies, what we eat, how much we move, how well we rest matters more and more with each passing year.
Your body is always working for you, and the food you eat is its fuel.As you age, your body needs more support. Nutrient-dense food isn’t just about weight it’s about maintaining energy, protecting your heart, supporting your bones and joints, and keeping your brain sharp.
When you consistently eat processed foods, skip vegetables, or ignore hydration, you're not just affecting how you feel today, you're setting the stage for chronic issues tomorrow. Heart disease, diabetes, inflammation, and even cognitive decline are all linked to long-term dietary choices.
For years I ignored how I treated my body, let the weight come on, made excuses for myself and created really bad habits, especially working 10 hour days sitting at a desk.
Healthy eating isn’t about perfection or fad diets, it's about creating a sustainable, nourishing lifestyle. That means:
Just as important as what you eat is how you move. You don’t have to become a marathon runner or hit the gym five times a week, but consistent movement is critical. As we age, muscle mass naturally declines, joints stiffen, and metabolism slows. Regular activity—walking, stretching, strength training, yoga—helps counteract these changes, keeps your heart healthy, and boosts your mood.
Now working at Modern Movement Medicine I am learning how to rethink the way I look at food, exercise and even my body. It's not perfect and I still have a long road ahead, but with the support of my family and my work family, I can make better choices for myself and learn along the way.
Healthy eating isn't a punishment, it's a gift to yourself. It’s a way of saying, “I matter. My future matters. And I’m ready to take care of the only body I’ve got.”
At Modern Movement Medicine, we believe that true healing comes from treating the root cause —not just masking symptoms with medications or resorting to unnecessary surgeries. That’s why we’ve pioneered a revolutionary approach, integrating regenerative medicine, chiropractic care, and Schroth-based physical therapy (focusing on the body’s asymmetries) to restore optimal function, mobility, and well-being for our patients.
We’re setting a new standard in healthcare.
Traditional healthcare often relies on prescription medications or invasive procedures that typically provide only temporary relief. At our clinic, we take a different path—one that relies on the body’s natural ability to heal itself. By combining precise chiropractic adjustments and customized physical therapy plans with regenerative medicine our goal is to truly restore function and provide long-lasting relief.
Our chiropractors go beyond traditional adjustments. Using state-of-the-art digital X-rays and the Nervoscope—a specialized tool that detects nerve inflammation—we pinpoint exactly which nerve(s) need attention. This allows us to deliver precise, targeted adjustments that relieve pressure on the nervous system, improving function and alleviating pain from its source. It's important to note that nerves control muscular function, which is the next step on our patients journey.
Schroth-based physical therapy, a method that focuses on asymmetrical exercises tailored to an individual's postural imbalances. This approach is particularly effective for scoliosis and chronic pain conditions. By correcting asymmetries and retraining movement patterns, we help our patients regain strength, balance, and pain-free mobility.
Regenerative medicine harnesses the body’s own healing mechanisms. Natural bioregenerative agents stimulate tissue repair, reduce inflammation, and accelerate recovery. These advanced therapies are particularly effective for joint pain, ligament injuries, degenerative disc disease, and other musculoskeletal conditions that have not responded well to other treatments.
We believe in treating physical problems with physical medicine. Many of our patients come to us after being let down by conventional healthcare—enduring years of treatments that only suppress symptoms without solving the root of the problem. Our unique approach allows us to take on even the most complex cases and offer real solutions for those who thought they had exhausted all of their options.
If you or a loved one have been struggling with chronic pain, injury, or limited mobility and haven’t found answers elsewhere, Modern Movement Medicine is here to offer real solutions. Our team of experts is ready to guide you toward a pain-free, active, and healthy life.
Schedule a consultation today and experience the future of healthcare—one that prioritizes your body’s natural ability to heal, without unnecessary interventions.

Here at Modern Movement Medicine we provide specific and quality Gonstead Chiropractic. Our Gonstead Chiropractors go above and beyond taking the time to conduct a thorough analysis of your spine using a 5 step analysis to determine the presence/location and the root cause of the symptoms you may be experiencing.
The 5 step analysis includes:
Visualization- We ask all of our patients to wear a gown each visit, this will allow your chiropractor see subtle changes in your posture.
Instrumentation- The instrument of choice that both Gonstead Chiropractors here at our office use is the Nervoscope. Dr. Alyssa and Dr. Brittany will glide this Nervoscope down your spine at every visit. The job of the Nervoscope is to detect uneven distributions of heat along the spine which can be indicative of inflammation and nerve pressure. This and full spine x-rays allows us here at Modern Movement Medicine to better serve you by being as specific as possible with your adjustments.
Static Palpation- Your Gonstead Chiropractor will feel or palpate your spine without movement to detect pockets of edema/swelling or tenderness in the spine caused by irritation of the nerves.
Motion Palpation- We then move to feeling or palpating with movement so determine how the joint is moving or more importantly NOT moving.
X-Ray Analysis- The last but certainly not the least step of this analysis is full spine x rays. These x-rays are helpful in evaluating joint and disc integrity, vertebral misalignments and also allow us to rule out any pathologies, or recent fractures that may be present or contributing to your condition.
Our goal as Gonstead Chiropractors is to provide the most specific care giving you relief of symptoms. Here are some symptoms patient experience relief from: Allergies, Sleep, Fatigue, Colds, Pain and more.
Gonstead care is also removing interference in your nervous system. Here at Modern Movement Medicine we aim to help your body function at its optimal level and improve your quality of life.
